I just played the Initial D arcade game by Sega this weekend. It has the option to save your data on cards that you can use when you return to the arcade. Quite cool!

Innovation in the arcade is long overdue. If they can provide a play experience that I can't get in my home, I'll drop my quarters in arcade games just like I did when I was young. This is a great, fun step.

is it just me, but the pictures from the actual article site look horrible. the textures and shading is n64 level. the aliasing is outrageous. if this was a revolution level launch game, they definitely have some work to do on it.

as for the face mapping. its nothing new. if a publisher wanted, you can already do that on the ps2.

Umm... they look pretty good to me--much better than the N64 and Gamecube. It needs some anti-aliasing is all.
